Otto is a big, black boy on his third chance. We fostered him at 8 months when he was rescued from a shelter. After temperment testing, it was determined that Otto was an abuse victim suffering from fear aggression. I knew from looking in his eyes that he could be brought back, and that he'd be worth the time it took. Family dog obedience classes and lots of love made all the difference for this "momma's boy".
I don't know why my first people were so mean to me, but I'm sure glad I landed in this family. They seem to understand that inside my 90 pound body beats the heart of a lapdog.
