When I adopted her, she was a “special needs” dog (she was in a shelter the first one and a half years of her life). Little did I know what I was in for! When I think of the timid, scared dog I brought home years ago, I can’t believe what she’s overcome. Before, she would never venture past the porch. Now, she goes in every room! I’ve taught her over the years, but she’s taught me, too: PATIENCE, compassion and to not believe in stereotypes. I've given her a loving, forever home, but she's made me a better person!
How much I love her and would do anything for her and other homeless pets! I have always volunteered at shelters wherever I've lived and always try to convince people to adopt from a shelter pet. I also try to get people to stop thinking that all Pitbulls are mean and vicious. :-(
