The Shelter Pet Project

Aksel Seven Keeton

K Melissa Keeton

Pleasant Grove, AL

Greater Birmingham Humane Society

Why Aksel Seven Keeton is so special:

Aksel stole my heart when I saw his picture at GBHS. He had been chained in someone's back yard, has the scars to prove it on back of both ears. He had heartworms, round worms, whip worms and a couple of others. I found out he had Giardia when I took him to his first vet appointment. Then he got tape worms. I tell you he had it rough long before I found him. I also heard he had been returned twice to the shelter. So that was it. He was coming home with me.

If your pet could talk, what would he or she tell us about you?:

I love my momma. I love that I live inside all of the time and have a fenced-in back yard for my safety and enjoyment every day. I waited for my momma and she came. She is my hero.
